I ponder, I type, I wonder why you read it

Over zealous parents! You know you hate them.

Sorry to start off on such a random note not that this is any different than usual but in this case its really been getting on my nerves. Anyway, where was I...

The ‘Little Timmy is doing so well’ sort of people who don their entire house with their child’s exploits not matter how small or shire. Pictures of dogs that look like an elephant exploding inside a petting zoo.

Don’t get me wrong, encouraging your kids is great. You never know what a person can achieve if they put their mind to it but doesn’t mean you must expose us to the same thing as them. A displaying a few pictures is all well and good but it’s when you have to watch family videos that you have well and truly nuked the line.

My family has become like this with the ever growing exploits of my younger sister. I’ll quite happily sing her graces from time to time (though she could do allot better at singing it than me) but I won’t make you sit and watch her latest performance while I sit here starry eyed wondering why you aren’t having as much fun as me.

Lets face it people your kids are stupid when they are little. Not everyone is destined to be the next Vincent Van Gogh (although with some of the stupidity I’ve witnessed I’m sure more than a few will lose an ear one way or another). Some people are good at plumbing and manual labour, so let them be good at it (they earn more than some university lecturers).

Thinking about it more I hate family movies in general. They make me cringe and squirm on a tectonic scale. It doubles my embarrassment of an event as not only was I probably embarrassed by my actions at the time; I now have to relive them in front of others. By thinking about it I experience more than double the attention for an event, watching me then twice and now once as well. You of all people should know how easily embarrassed I am at the most simple of things like someone mentioning my name or those around me being embarrassing. Give me photos to look at any day.

Note to family. Its not aimed at you, i was bored and stuff. To be more precised Dad, i know you'll read this at some point so don't worry, your not bad.

I am a rather big fan of photography (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more say no more) in all in carnations. Photoshop is one of TNO’s (The Noodlely One’s (Ramen)) greatest creations and one day I will get CS2 and learn how to use it to its fullest.

Maybe I could use it to solve my endless painting problem. Don’t worry; this will make very little sense to most people, purely a note to myself, no worries

So now we must venture into the here now and not so distant present (the future is something we never reach, and talking about it as a not so distant present kind makes it more believable I feel). I am staying at my Aunt’s place and my Uncle’s places over Easter (yus multiple places, this isn’t just my sloppy spelling haunting you even through word processing) At the moment of writing this I am in a little town called St. Sozy, a little town in the valley of the Dordogne with views of hills and mountains. The Dordogne River itself is max of five minutes walk down the road and by road I mean country track covered in tarmac. This is house one of two that my gardener of an uncle owns around here. The one we are staying in at the moment is the one he rents out in the summer, the bigger house.

Shameless plug of details for renting it is possible on request. Trouble is apparently that

people book these houses half a year ahead or after they leave. So for future reference, if yah want to rent a house in France book at crimbo.

He has a second house which e then stays in when he is out of home over the summer. He works a lot of the time as a gardener looking after properties like his and helps build other buildings and homes. Looking at the picture which I have on facebook.com you can see why the house and the region is so popular with tourists and the such. Beautiful countryside but there are towns not too far away.

This semi lack of civilisation is great for study. No wi-fi, no internet and no wii (just got past the temple of time btw and reactivated the dominion rod, not long left for main quest). First time I’ve honestly wanted to study to pass the time and I haven’t needed too, i blame the fresh are and damned sunlight.

On Tuesday I’ll be heading to my aunts house in Cassoul de Bezire which is in a "circulard". For you heathen uncultured plebs (please keep reading, you know I love you all really) its a city built in a circle in order to better defend itself, but now very little actually remains of it but the shape is still there. I haven’t been there in a year or two, last time i went it was more like a shell with us sleeping on inflatable mattresses . so apparently its all habitable now with no chance of barbecues collapsing on peoples heads as it did to my mum last time, damn funny and impressive it was (don’t judge my sense of humour here, the thing was unstable as it was and without provocation it went sideways over my mum just as she leaned over next to it. You would have laughed too dammit).

Thanks for at least reading some of my ramblings or just reading this bit. This has kept me sane and away from another Jane Austin movie my mum insists on watching.

Cheers, adios
